Your request
How do I apply?
Fill in the short form on the page for an individual or for a company. It takes about two minutes. We then call you back to confirm what you need and the next steps.
Does sending a request cost anything?
No. Sending a request costs nothing. We ask for payment only once we have been in touch.
Do I need to travel to Portugal?
No. Everything happens online: we call you back, you sign a power of attorney online, we file the application and you receive your NIF by email.
Documents and signature
Which documents do I need?
A valid passport or identity card, and a proof of address. We confirm the list with you when we call you back.
Why do I sign a power of attorney?
It allows us to apply for your NIF on your behalf at the Finanças. You sign it online, in a few minutes.
Do I have to print or post anything?
No. There is nothing to print and nothing to send by post.
Fiscal representative
Do I need a fiscal representative?
It depends on where you live and what you need the NIF for. When we call you back, we tell you whether you need one and what our offer includes.
Payment
How much does it cost?
€99 for an individual (NIF) and €499 for a company (NIPC), VAT included. One price, shown before you apply.
When do I pay?
Not when you send your request. We ask for payment after we have called you back and confirmed what you need.
Isn't the NIF free?
Yes. The Autoridade Tributária e Aduaneira issues it free of charge, and you can apply yourself at a Finanças office in Portugal. Our price covers the service of doing it for you.
Your NIF
How long does it take?
A few days once we have your signed power of attorney and your documents.
How do I receive it?
By email. Keep that email: landlords, banks and employers will ask you for your NIF.
Where can I use it?
Everywhere in Portugal: to rent or buy a home, open a bank account, sign an employment contract, connect the electricity and internet, buy a car or enrol at a university.
Companies
Which companies is it for?
Companies registered outside Portugal, with no seat or branch in the country, that need a NIPC for a step in Portugal: buying property, opening a bank account, signing a contract or taking a stake in a Portuguese company.
Which documents does my company need?
We review your situation and tell you exactly which company documents are needed.
What is a NIPC?
The tax number of a company in Portugal, Número de Identificação de Pessoa Coletiva: the company's equivalent of the NIF.
How much does it cost for a company?
€499, VAT included.

Can I see, correct or delete my details?
